Our apartment's located just behind the cathedral - a ten minute walk from Girona's old quarter - while in the picture below (taken from the opposite direction) Girona itself is just out of view, beyond the cathedral which can be seen to the left rising above the trees.

Travel options from GIRONA AIRPORT

From Girona Airport it's a 30 MINUTE BUS RIDE into Girona (bus fare five euros) and the apartment is then a 25 minute walk from the bus station (or five minutes by taxi). Alternatively, if you take a taxi directly from the airport to our apartment, it's a 30 minute journey (taxi fare 30 euros).

Travel options from BARCELONA AIRPORT

We're an easy 90 MINUTE DRIVE from Barcelona Airport - straight up the A7 autopista (for car rental firms at Barcelona and Girona airports see car hire ).

There are three daily BUSES from Barcelona Aiport direct to Girona (return fare 38 euros) and the apartment is then a 25 minute walk from the bus station (or five minutes by taxi - taxi fare 10 euros). Buses from Barcelona Airport direct to Girona are run by Alsa, journey time two hours. Departure times are as follows -

Departure times from Barcelona Airport Terminal One - 08.15, 14.15 and 21.30.
Departure times from Barcelona Airport Terminal Two - 08.00, 14.00 and 21.15.
For the return journey from Girona bus station to Barcelona Airport, departure times are 05.35, 11.10 and 18.10.

The alternative is to take the TRAIN from Barcelona Airport into Barcelona Sants station, and then to change at Sants for the train to Girona (the return fare from Barcelona Airport to Girona is around 40 euros) and the apartment is then a 25 minute walk from the train station (or five minutes by taxi) - but please bear in mind that at the latest you'd have to catch the train leaving Barcelona Airport around 8pm in order to be sure to catch the last train for Girona which leaves Sants at 9.15pm - see the RENFE train timetable to check. (Total journey time two hours plus, depending on connections).
